Using batch actions to perform bulk updates in the Giving module
It's sometimes the case that a User wants to 'bulk change' a selection of records, or even all records. Batch actions is a feature that enables Users to do just that. Each module in ChurchSuite has its own 'batch action' functionality, with more batch actions planned for the future.
In this article we explore the batch actions currently available in the Giving module. See the related article for batch actions available in the other modules.
Within the Givers section of the Giving module, selecting one or more givers will reveal the Actions menu allowing a User to perform batch actions on the selected givers.
Batch actions include: Download CSV, Add to flow, Add to [giver] tag, Archive and Delete.
Note that it is not possible to delete a giver that has an active or cancelled subscription, or (for UK customers only) if any of their donations are included in a Gift Aid claim.
Within the Donations section of the Giving module, selecting one or more donations will reveal the Actions menu allowing a User to perform batch actions on the selected donations.
Batch actions include: Edit and Delete.
Selecting Edit provides options to perform batch edit actions for the selected donation's Batch, Fund, Date and Method. Ticking a checkbox for an item will expand the edit options available for that item. Users must confirm before clicking the Save button to process the batch update.
Within a Flow a User can batch Process or batch Remove people from a Flow.
The batch Process page includes options to batch process Actions and to batch change the Due date and Assignee.
Within the Giving module's Reports section, the Notes report includes batch actions for deleting giver notes.
