Using batch actions to perform bulk updates in the Planning module

It's sometimes the case that a user wants to 'bulk change' a selection of records, or even all records. Batch actions is a feature that enables users to do just that. Each module in ChurchSuite has its own batch action functionality, with more batch actions planned for the future.

In this article we explore the batch actions currently available in the Planning module. See the related articles for an overview of batch actions available in other modules.

Plans

Within the Planning module Plans section, using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list to select one or more Plans will reveal the Actions menu, allowing a user to perform batch actions on the selected Plans.

Batch actions include: Set as draft, Publish, Edit and Delete.

Plan Edit batch actions let you make batch changes to the selected Plans' Date and Time.

Plan items

When viewing a Plan's "View" page, using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list of Plan Items to select one or more Items will reveal the Actions menu. This menu allows a user to perform batch actions on the selected Items.

Batch actions include: Edit and Delete.

Edit batch actions for Plan Items let you make batch changes to the selected Items' Duration.

Library

You can perform batch actions on Library items within the Library section of the module. Using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list of Library items, select one or more items to reveal the Actions menu, allowing a user to perform batch actions on the selected items.

Batch actions include: Edit, Archive and Delete.

Edit batch actions for Library items let you make batch changes to the selected Library items' Duration.

Templates

Within the Planning module Templates section, using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list to select one or more Templates will reveal the Actions menu, allowing a user to perform batch actions on the selected Templates.

Batch actions include: Edit, Archive and Delete.

Template Edit batch actions let you make batch changes to the selected Templates' Time.

Template items

When viewing a Template's "View" page, using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list of Template Items to select one or more Items will reveal the Actions menu, allowing a user to perform batch actions on the selected Items.

Batch actions include: Edit and Delete.

Edit batch actions for Template Items let you make batch changes to the selected Items' Duration.

Types

Within the Planning module Types section, using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list to select one or more Types will reveal the Actions menu, allowing a user to perform batch actions on the selected Types.

Batch actions include: Edit and Delete.

Type Edit batch actions let you make batch changes to the selected Types' Colour, Duration and CCLI tracking setting.

When working within a Type's "View" page, the Questions tab includes batch actions. Using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list to select one or more Questions will reveal the Actions menu, allowing a user to perform batch actions on the selected Questions.

Batch actions include: Delete.

When working within a Type's "View" page, the Library tab includes batch actions. Using the checkboxes on the left-hand side of the list to select one or more Library Items will reveal the Actions menu, allowing a user to perform batch actions on the selected Items.

Batch actions include: Edit, Archive and Delete.

Notes report

Within the Planning module's reports section, the Notes report includes batch actions to Delete selected  notes.
